Sadie had two, thankfully benign, lumps removed. Silly me, I had the stitches removed on the 10th day. Sadie proceeded to gnaw her incision open! After a trip to the ER for her to get re-stitched, stapled actually, it was clear she needed help staying away from the new staples. I couldn’t bring myself to put a lampshade on her, so I went shopping for this other “thingy” I had heard of but never seen. Well, the Kong Cloud Collar works, and best of all Sadie doesn’t seem bothered by it. Staples come out next Monday. Yeah!
Poor Sadiekins 🙁 JB is getting spayed the first week in January so thanks for reminding me to think of what I might have to do to keep her from bothering her stitches!
Oh. Poor girl. The thing about the collar is that Sadie can reach her butt and lower tummy. The lumps were removed from her right side a few inches above her waist. But, there are other collars so I’ve heard. Soft lamp shade shaped ones and flat ones that look like record and fan out from the neck in a flat circle. Good luck to JB….and you 🙂
Obviously, from her posture, we can see that Sadie doesn’t mind the collar a bit. It looks like a much better option than the plastic lampshade of doom.
Glad the lumps were benign.
Hope this means you can enjoy a worry-free holiday!
Thanks. Sadie’s doing very well. She doesn’t seem to mind her inner tube at all. Although we haven’t braved a hike, she is having a ball chasing squirrels in my friend’s yard.
Welcome to Boulder Dog! Meet Sadie, the muse, and Deborah, the blogger. We hope you enjoy our blog and visit often. Oh, yes. Please leave a comment. Sadie loves comments.
THAT is awesome. I want one for me!
Oh no! But the dogger butt and paws in the air is sure cute 🙂

Yes, thank you. Staples come out on Monday!
Aww, poor puppy. That looks a lot more comfortable than the cone, at least. Almost like a pillow.
I hope she recovers soon.

Now THAT is making do with a not pleasant situation. Always finding comfort!
When’s the pool party?
It’s very stylish! And yes, Sadie is treating it like a fashion accessory rather than an encumbrance.
Yes! I’m hoping to get a video of her romping in it. Pretty funny.
Looks like Sadie thought it was pretty comfy – and I bet it would work as a pillow on an airplane! 🙂
Just what I was thinking 😉 Her staples finally were removed yesterday and as of this morning she’s officially a blue tube-free zone.
